Why animals shouldn't be held in captivity By Sarah

Tuesday 16 August 2016

Surely you would agree with me that animals should not be held in captivity. I Will persuade you with many reasons as to why animals should not be held in captivity.

God has created  all animals to be free because they are born free. The zoo or captivity is not the natural environment. The wild or the forest is the natural environment for animals. Hence, we should not be keeping animals in captivity. How would you feel if you were held in a cage or in an enclosure?

Another reason why animals should not be held in captivity is because people mock and tease the animals. Sometimes the animals might get angry and upset and might attack.  People also throw objects at the animals . This harms the animals and injures the animals. Would you like it if people threw stuff at you?

Although animals are kept in the zoo, their food is contaminated with chemicals. The chemicals affect the animal's health and then they will become sick. When they eat natural food the food makes their bodies healthy and strong. If zoos release the animals, they will not survive because they are used to being fed daily in the zoo.

In the zoo the zoo keepers feed the lions. In the zoo the lions  just get food given to them.  In their natural environment, they have to hunt for their food. If they were to let out of the zoo, they will die because they have not been taught how to hunt for their food. They might also get attacked by other animals. In their natural environment, they have to be able to hunt and be flexible, so they can hunt for food. At the zoo, lions just sit there and get wait to get feed. Tigers were born to be free. In their natural habitat, tigers are flexible and out there hunting for food. In the zoo the tigers are just use to getting fed daily. If you keep the tigers in captivity, they will get lazy and they won't  get enough exercise. By keeping the tigers in captivity, they will lose their ability to hunt in their natural habitat. If a tiger is released from the zoo it won't be able to hunt and it will get eaten. Like all animals, God has created birds to be free. God didn't create them to be held in captivity. If a bird was released from captivity they won't be able to fly.

I trust that I have provided you with many reasons as to why animals should not be held in captivity. God has created all animals to be free, not held in captivity.

Persuasive Writing: Why it is important to be respectful during break time. By Sarah

Persuasive Writing: Why it is important to be respectful during break time.

In my opinion, it is important to be respectful during break times. I will provide you with many reasons  as to why it is important to  be respectful during break time and convince you beyond doubt not to be silly.

By being respectful we follow our school values Integrity, Confidence and Excellence. Integrity means being honest, Confidence means being sure about you yourself and Excellence means giving off your best. Following our school values means being true to our school. Our values help us to be better human beings and it also makes us make responsible choices when we leave school.

If you don't be respectful during break times, it will set a bad example for the juniors. Here a 2 reasons why it is important to be respectful during break times.  Firstly if you don't make good choices during break times,   it will become a bad habit. Secondly we should be respectful during break times because it is shows that we are displaying our school values.

If you make poor choices by bullying, fighting and swearing, you could be stood down. Would you like to be stood down? Only a fool would be a bully and hurt others feelings. If you were to  get stood down you would get sent home. When you get sent home you will be missing out on a lot of
learning. Hurting other learners feelings is not fun and cool at all. A sensible idea would be not to bully and swear others. If you make responsible choices, you would be respected by peers and teachers. If you make responsible choices the teachers and juniors will look up to you as a responsible leader. When teachers look up to you, they will think of you as a positive role model to other learners.

I trust that I have provided you with adequate reasons as to why you should be respectful during break times.
