Recount writing; A beautiful day at the beach

On Sunday morning at 10 o'clock, Ocean,Breeze,Darryl and nephew Brycie  dashed into the lounge where i was sitting on the  soft  lazy boy and they said at the same time “hurry up summah we are going to your favourite beach kawakawa beach” I rushed like lightning and got changed into shorts and a singlet and had a quick wash.

Excitedly, I helped mum pack the car.we packed books,towels,togs,sand shoes,sandwiches and much more.Mum reminded all of us and happily said”do all you people have your togs ready”we all shouted at the same time “yes it is in the car!!!There after we locked the door and went to the car.Dad said “Buckle up ”we all buckled up then started oue journey.As we started our journey.as we started the car and went out the drive way,i frustratingly let out a loud scream.It was that loud that the neighbours looked out the window to see what that noise was.I felt enthusiastic.

As we started our journey,mum turned on the radio instead of listening to the car driving across the bumpy road.we sang to the beat that was on the radio .it was like a rock and roll.While we were  heading to our destination,we saw cars speeding mad and crazy,cows,sheep,beautiful and colourful birds and trees.we drove around windey roads .It was windey like a snake . Suddenly we reached our destination. I felt very happy and excited. We saw people playing Volley ball. The water was so lovely and clear. It was that clear you could see through the water from the wharf. I was thirsty so I  politely asked mum if she could get me a drink because she was going to the shop. She replied “ okay what drink ?” I replied back  to mum “ an orange juice please.” When she came back she gave my orange juice and I drank it . It was a tangy taste but still delicious. After I drank it , I put my togs on and went for a swim.

We had our final swim for the day.  The water was so refreshing and it felt nice. we saw a jellyfish , it was white and pink . The water was also salty. We saw Fishermen fishing on the boat and at the wharf. they caught a fish, it looked slimy, big and had a prickly bub. After my final swim, I went to go have a snack. I had  an egg, lettuce and tomato sandwich that was so tasty. I also had ready salted chips, they were very salted.

Then mum tiredly said “Come on kids we had enough of the beach let's go home and relax”. So we followed what mum had said to do . I felt exhausted and tired but at the same time it was a beautiful Sunday morning and afternoon .

Recount writing: A day out at the beach

During the holidays, Mum, Cousins, Aunty, Uncle, Sister,Sister law, Brother, Nephew, Niece and I went to the beach. I was in the shower. Ten minutes later mum dashed in the shower and said “ get ready we are going to the beach”. We started packing the car.We went on dad’s flash reliable car.I was very excited because I had not been to that beach in a long time.

We started to pack up the car. We went to Tapapakanga beach. We took kai,towels, togs,drinks, chilly bin, ice blocks and many more items. I helped mum pack up the car. I was excited because a lot of my family came. When mum,sister and I were done , we went to our Aunty Puti’s house. All my Whanau had to meet there. When everyone arrived, we started our enjoyable ride to the beach.

My Uncle had found us an comfortable shady spot. All my whanau helped to get the stuff out of the car. We took all of our stuff to our spot. We set up our stuff. When we were done, I ran to the tent like lightning to put my togs on. When I was done, Mum put some suntan lotion on me. As soon as she was done, I ran to the beach with my cousins. I saw a lot of people surfing. So I thought to myself,”shall I grab my surfboard?” Then I thought back to myself and thought, “No I would rather have a swim.” I felt lucky to have a whanau who loves the beach.

I was having an enjoyable swim. The view from the beach was beautiful. Then mum said, “Come for a kai.” So we got out and went for a kai. We had steak, chops,sausages, salad and  much more. We had finished, we rested our stomachs for half an hour. Within that hour, we were reading, singing,fighting and climbing trees.

I felt excited because we went back in the water. My family and I played a game. We played volleyball. My team was winning until the other team started smashing us. Then we finished playing.

My team had won by one point. I was feeling proud of my team. We then went to the wharf. It started to get deep so my little nephews came on the wharf. They watched us jumping off but it was too deep for them.My cousin and I had a bomb competition. I went first. Then my cool cousin went next. I had lost. But it didn’t matter because my cousin was older than me. All my cousins started doing enormous bombs. Their bombs were huge because they were teenagers.

My cousin kept on doing bombs.So I went for a walk to the park.The park had a lot of stuff.I went on the swings.The swings were going high.High is awesome.I went on the monkey bars.They were slippery.I felt scared because i might fall off.My cousins  and I went back to the enormous wharf. We started jumping off again.We then went back to our spot.

We packed up and left.The drive home was awesome because we had ice-cream.The ice-cream was delicious.I had passion fruit ice-cream.We finally arrived home.We unpacked the car and went inside.We had a hot shower.When we finished, we went to sleep.WOW I had a smashing day.

It was a boring and lazy Sunday evening,when my sister asked my Dad if we could go somewhere.”Where would you like to go?” My Dad asked my little sister.”The pools, please.” My sister said”Okay, go tell your brother to get ready.”My sister charged into my room like a bull on a rampage.

“Were going to the pool!”My sister shouted.

“No! I don’t want to go!”I said “Dad said” She replied.“Okay!”I packed my stuff and we got into the car and we were on our way!

On the way the only thing I saw was a lot of shops.Finally we arrived, unfortunately, we had a stroke of bad luck because we had to wait in a long line. I felt mad and bored. Every second felt like an hour,every minute felt like a day! after what seemed like a week, it was finally our turn to pay! Luckily, my sister was free.

I quickly got changed and got in the pool. “Its freezing! The pools freezing!”I shouted. I quickly got to the warm area of the pool.My body quickly got used to the cold water. “GAAAHHHHH” I screamed like a little girl.”Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!”my sister laughed her evil laugh.I soon realised what just happened, my sister pulled my leg, literally!At that exact moment i sought revenge on her.

“Do you want to race?” My little sister asked. “Sure, why not right? Because I’m going to win!” I said. The race was from one side of the pool to the other. “Go!!” We both shouted simultaneously. All that went through my mind was ‘I’ve got to win!’ My heart was pounding in my chest, I needed to go up for air. “i won!!” My sister shouted

I had learnt my lesson for being cocky. “Heads up” My sister shouted as she splashed me with a wave of water. “AAAHHHH!!!!” I screamed. I splashed her with a wave of water and vigorously swam to the Lazy river. “Good grief, I lost her.” I said quietly.

After hiding for a few minutes, I got out of the Lazy river and scanned the pool for my little sister. I breathed a sigh of relief. ‘No sign of her’ I thought for a split second when a wave of water splashed on me. “You're way too easy to get.’ My little sister complained.

I decided that I needed to be stealthy if I was going to get my little sister back ‘Aha!’ I thought. I spotted my little sister standing in the middle of the pool. I splashed her with a wave of water. “Oh yeah! My revenge! Finally!” I shouted. The lifeguard dude gave me a funny look.

“Kids, it's time to go!” My Dad said. My sister and I went to the changing rooms. I quickly got changed and my Dad and I waited for my sister. When she got out, we got into the car and headed home. When we got home, my Mum had prepared a beautiful dinner, Roasted chicken. After dinner, I went to my room and read a book till I fell asleep.

It was a lazy Saturday.I was watching TV when mum raced in and said “ get ready we are going to the pools’’, I felt very excited because I had not been to the pools in a long time.

I jumped off the comfortable lazy boy and ran to go and pack my things.I packed my togs and towel as quick as lightning and dashed out the front door to put my things in the car.Then I went to and helped mum pack the car.We packed ice-cold drinks,crispy chips,chewy lollies and a car seat for my niece.Finally mum yelled “ is everyone ready’’ we all yelled “ yes’’ and off we drove.We drove past shops with lollies and toys In It.Finally we arrived, I felt so excited.

Aunty and Uncle were already there when we arrived.We all got out of the car and paid for our swim.When mum finished paying,we went into the changing rooms and got changed.In the changing room, I saw people rushing to go for a swim and then amongst them all, I saw my friend Wanita. Wanita and i pushed amongst them all  and went for a swim.

When I jumped into the water,it was ice-cold, so cold that Wanita and I wanted  to  jump out but we didn't.. Soon it started to get warm.Finally we  jumped  out because Wanita  and i had to have lunch.For lunch, I had  crispy chips and a creamy doughnut. Wanita had fish and chips my crispy chips and creamy doughnut was delicious i don't know about Wanita but i think it was delicious.

After lunch, I had a little swim and with wanita  and then went home because it was 5:00 I got out of the pool and went to get changed, when I finished I was so happy because I had not been to the pools in a long time I ran out the door and jumped in the car .I thought to myself today was the best day ever.I suggest that you go to the pools because it is the best place ever.

A day at Huntly

On Saturday, Nan, Koro, Shannon, my aunts and I went to Huntly on our nan’s reliable car for my uncle Desmond's birthday. I didn’t know that until my Nan announced”Come on get ready we are going to Huntly!”

As soon as I heard my Nan say that i felt super excited, even when i helped my nan pack I was still excited. I was looking forward to that.

During the ride, we went pass farms, shops, houses and truckstops. Since it was a long drive,  we stopped at Pokeno to get gas and some delicious tasty ice cream. I heard that Pokeno sold the biggest icecreams.

When we finally arrived, I felt overjoyed.After my little moment, I went to go hug my Nans, Aunts, Uncles and Koros. Thereafter I went to go play with my cousins. The game we played was called ballrush, my cousins and I were having so much fun.

I felt really hungry after all that playing. I went to go to the kitchen to get some delicious snacks. I had one rasberry drink, a packet of crunchy yellow chips and a tasty taniwha burger.

After lunch I went and played with my cousins. Thereafter I went inside and watched T.V. The programme I watched was called K.C undercover, that is a funny and cool programme.

I felt really sleepy and lazy after watching T.V. I had a little nap on the comfortable couch. I really enjoyed my sleep,  but suddenly I  was awoken by my cousin's big mouth he shouted”COME ON JESSIE GET UP!!!”  

I had a little play but my Nan told me to pack up and get in the car.Thereafter, we excitedly headed back to our lovely home so we said”Hurray” to everyone.

That day was a perfect day and to be honest  I would rate this day a ten out of ten, I felt really excited about this day and my excited feeling was expressed throughout the whole day.
